Larry, Larry – pass the TP please!

Now THIS! THIS is news!

U.S. Senator Larry Craig busted for lewd conduct in airport men’s room

“Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) was arrested in June at a Minnesota airport by a plainclothes police officer investigating lewd conduct complaints in a men’s public restroom, according to an arrest report obtained by Roll Call Monday afternoon.”

“On Aug. 8, the day he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in the Minnesota court, Craig appeared via satellite at a ceremony that took place in Idaho in which former Idaho federal Judge Randy Smith was invested into his new position as a judge on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals”

There’s more at Down With Tyranny.   One of my favorite places, Americablog has the goods as well.

But the place that matters – home.  Idaho.  Channel 8 in Pocatello; Channel 7 in Boise, as well as The Idaho Statesman.   The New West even has it up.  It’s basically the same ‘story’ thus far, apparently coming off the same wire.

Tell me something.  How and where does one learn airport bathroom etiquette?  And here, I’ve been under the impression public restrooms are for hygiene purposes.

And the air conditioning has decided to stop work in our building at the hospital.  It’s only 82 degrees out, but later this week it’ll creep back up into the 90s.  We’re in an old wooden 1950s thing. We’re step-children.

Abu Gonzo out!

Updates (12:45 MST) – Story from CNN referencing Bush’s remarks about AbuGonzo’s good name and the mud it’s been drug through.  Christy  Hardin Smith & Jane Hamsher at firedoglake have the scoops.

(10:00 MST) Bush said something at his minute news conference that Gonzales’ name has been dragged through the mud. To hell with the reputation of our Justice Department, eh?

Who knew this would spark ?!

THIS.….” I often remind our fellow citizens that we live in the greatest country in the world — and that I have lived the American dream. Even my worst days as attorney general have been better than my father’s best days.” (Liveblogging Abu Gonzo presser at firedoglake.)

Now to bring back some serious justice to the Justice Department, which will not happen until we get all these thugs out of office. I’m sick of ’em.

Good Timing, eh? Mine Rescue Conference

Well, well – this is interesting. natl-coal-mine-rescue-msha.jpgThe ‘3rd’ International Conference Mine Rescue Conference

Presented Hosted by MSHA….. co-sponsored by National Mining Association. From the ‘About’ page:

“…..the voice of the American mining industry in Washington, D.C. NMA is the only national trade organization that represents the interests of mining before Congress, the Administration, federal agencies, the judiciary and the media.”

Let’s see here, MSHA and the NMA, together, having a conference on “Effective Mine Rescue Operations.” That’s rich. Do you think Murray Energy will be there? I see Energy West has a team that’s listed as an entrant in the mine rescue.

Here’s the list of countries who will representatives in attendance (according to the MSHA site): “Australia, Brazil, China, Canada, New Zealand, Norway, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, South Africa, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.”

See the countries in bold, they’ve had recent mining disasters. Continue reading
