Rethinking Larry Craig’s Induction

The Idaho Statesman has an editorial this morning addressing Mr. Craig’s recent induction into the Idaho Hall of Fame. Just a taste.

The Hall of Fame Association is proving to be every bit as stubborn and tone-deaf as Craig, by planning to induct the senator despite his arrest and the guilty plea that he consciously kept from his constituents. Craig’s recent acts of poor judgment and bad faith have alienated many Idahoans of all political persuasions — and the Hall of Fame Association seems clueless. Like Craig, the association is going about its business as if the unseemly events of recent weeks had never even occurred. It would certainly be uncomfortable for the group to place Craig’s nomination on hold, but under these unusual circumstances, it would be only appropriate.
