Friday Nite Blogging

How about a picture of the moon I shot out the bedroom window one evening? Gotta figure out how to sharpen up or something with the image. The clouds encasing the moon is what caught my attention.

Tonight yet another rich and ‘righteous’ theocratic religious leader resigns after lying about their involvement and the particulars.

The lawsuit includes allegations of a $39,000 shopping tab at one store for Richard Roberts’ wife, Lindsay, a $29,411 Bahamas senior trip on the university jet for one of Roberts’ daughters, and a stable of horses for the Roberts children.

Doesn’t mention any riding gear though. Jodhpurs and boots with those cute little caps. This is the shit that just makes me truly want to explode with anger. People buy into supporting these parasites for life because of religion and the promise of something intangible. It’s the worst type of exploitation and betrayal.

Now using this link from Jane at ‘Acts of Hope’ there’s many a place where $30,000 could be put to grand use or even fewer dollars. That’s the kind of Christianity I think Christianity is about. Taking care of yourself, taking care of others as you would yourself.

  1. “There is a saying in scripture you cannot serve God and money.” Obviously, todays tv ministers have learned that you can, just by asking foolish Christians to donate to God, and recieve some blessing in the future. Those ministers who abuse the scripture teachings, who think they are better, more affluent, more successful, because of God, will pay the price of the piper. I will not judge them only feel sorry for them. There was a Catholic Bishop in Oakland California who lived amongst the rich, and had to give up his mansion to move into a more humble abode near the Cathedral and people he served. It is the sin of greed which we all are guilty, so don’t blame this writer for just mentioning scripture. It is better not to live on things that can be stolen, that rust will rot, and will decay, rather, live on the spiritual righteousness of Jesus Christ within, and help and serve others. Amen to that.
