Cliff Schecter, one of my favorite of bloggers, has this up about Ohio’s 5th congressional district race. Paul Gillmor was the representative; however in light of his unexpected death, his congressional seat became vacant. The Republican candidate, Bob Latta, wants the constituents to remember what’s causing all of their problems in upper Ohio when they vote in the upcoming special election on Dec. 11th.
“Illegal immigrants .”
As Cliff points, not that LTV, American Standard, TRW, and other industries have shut down in upper Ohio or moved to other countries to avoid paying taxes under the ReThuglican watch. Nope, it’s all the fact of those little sneaks making it past our “unprotected borders.”
Yet another smoke screen . . . . .
However, Seth Michaels with the AFL-CIO (presidential website coordinator) writes about the upcoming special election at firedoglake. Seth refers to it as pitting –
“.. a hangover from the old Ohio Republican agenda against a progressive who’s willing to fight for working families.”
I don’t know what it will take to get folks to listen. I mean, American Standard announced the end of November they’re moving their operation overseas; they were in Tiffin, Ohio. Tiffin is a beautiful place. I took road trips over to there often.
And it’s not just in Tiffin . . . . it has spread and will continue to spread until it is staunched.
