A Grown-Up Look at Judge Sonia Sotomayor

There is a lot out there about Sonia Sotomayor – a lot of bullshit.  But we’re not going to deal with the bullshit.  We’re going to deal with some grown-ups.

First up:  Judge Jon Newman who has served since 1979 on the same federal court with Judge Sonia Sotomayor, United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He was a guest on Charlie  Rose’s show, Tuesday, May 26th.   It’s quite illuminating.  (17 minutes)

Second up: A panel discussing Judge Sotomayor’s nomination made up of two journalists, Linda Greenhouse & Stuart Taylor, and Walter Dellinger – professor at Duke University & currently acting Solicitor General.  The journalist have covered the Supreme Court.   (24 minutes)

  1. LOL, 3 posts on the Supreme Court nominee and only one comment but a single post about Delsa’s reopening gets seven comments.

Sotomayor is the real deal and unlikely to be defeated by the wingnuts but thats the kind of appointment you’d expect from President Obama, a former constitutional law professor.

  2. Yeah – it’s like when Chris at The Unequivocal Notion writes about the governor & the state legislature locked in a heated battle, and beer. Beer ALWAYS gets more comments. Maybe it’s the “being able to relate” factor.

I am still stunned by all the bullshit rhetoric that has transpired this past week about Judge Sotomayor. Unbelievable.
